LIVE from 9-11:30AM // via zoom // recording available for 2 weeks
Class Fee $30

This Lateral Line Master Class is an advanced asana yoga practice that will feature backbends, side planks, compass variations, arm balance variations, and more! Get ready to get funky and out of your comfort zone with this one! (And maybe surprise yourself while doing it!)

This Master Class is split into three phases:

Phase 1: the warmup

A brief meditation and ~25 minutes of pranayama to ground and balance. I’ll also lead you through a sufficient and effective warm-up to get all those lateral line muscles nice and awake.

phase 2: the main event

A creative and challenging yoga sequence exploring different kinds of movement including but not limited to elasticity, viscoelasticity, plasticity, and asana movement promoting glide within the lateral lines linked to the essential relationship we have with the breath(!) to truly keep the mind focused and centered. If you’re coming to class with an overactive mind - be prepared to be pushed to presence!

A variety of arm balances and inversions will be offered as the practice progresses, but of course (as always) not at all required! I encourage you to approach this advanced asana practice with an open mind and zero expectations. If you open your mind enough, letting go and surrendering, you might even surprise yourself!

Remember, it is all about your experience.

phase 3: the cool down

Enjoy long, juicy, static restorative holds and a well-deserved savasana!

Sound good? Book Now!

Just to break it down a bit more…

The muscles that will be targeted (but not limited to) during this masterclass that make up the Lateral Lines include:

  • SCM (think outside of neck down the front)

  • Intercostals (the muscles that line our ribs, essential in the mechanics of breathing!)

  • Obliques (SIDE CORE! Need a say more?)

  • Glut Max (your hip, right on the side of your butt)

  • TFL (a mighty muscle on the front side of your body by your hip that aids in abduction and keeping the knee and hip safe)

  • ITB (yep. IT Band. Most runners, bikers, hikers will know EXACTLY where this is.)

  • Peroneals (muscles on the outside of your calf, in charge of moving your feet and ankles)

SPIRAL LINE MASTERCLASS
04 OcT 2020

2 week rental fee
$20
180min class

The muscles that will be targeted (but not limited to) during this masterclass that make up the Spiral Line includes:

• rhomboids (large muscles in between your shoulder blades, connects them to your spine)
• serratus anterior (think of this like a hand placed right under neath your armpit thumb side up and the fingers wrap around your ribs)
• obliques (side core)
• TFL (aids in hip function internal and external rotation, works with your glutes. A smaller, but mighty muscle, and a lot of times is super tight due to being shortened via sitting, running, biking, etc.)
• IT Band (that pesky band that a lot of runners are well aware of! works with the hip in a line down the outer part of your thigh to stabilize the outer part of your knee. I think 99% of us probably have tightness in our IT band.)
• erector spinae (back muscles
